Comments Off on He’s a Ball pen WizardPortuguese lawyer Samuel Silva has a unique hobby; he creates amazing lifelike illustrations using nothing more than a ballpoint pen.
So photorealistic are Samuel’s drawings he probably isn’t allowed to practice it in court illustrating defendants. He says that the drawings take forever, so if you want to commission one of his illustrations, bare that in mind.
He uses many different coloured pens to create the effect – cross-hatching to achieve depth and shading. He’s also very passionate about the media:
“Ballpoint pens are as underestimated as they are a powerful medium”.
If you’re tempted to take this up as a hobby, don’t expect the same results as Samuel, as he says “It’s not about what you use, it’s about how you use it.”
